With excellent engines and a well-organized chassis to handle any poking the chosen engine up front offers, the MINI Hatchback maintains its superiority over the other vehicles in its class inside. The Mini Yours has a bolder look thanks to the facelift, but that wouldn’t have changed its showroom appeal, and the nearly endless array of bespoke options ensures that it will continue to leave showrooms.
Even if the 211-litre trunk is modest and the three-door only seats four passengers, you wouldn’t purchase a Mini Hatch for its practicality. The JCW is still a pleasure to drive, and the infotainment system has been thoroughly upgraded. The One and Cooper are simple to customize, and the Cooper S gives the same enjoyment as a massive engine and a small car.
Mini hatch operating costs
There is no road tax, no congestion charge, and no utility cost in kind for commercial drivers, and the cost of fuel is half that of gas stations. Buying this car will result in long-term financial savings, but you will still have to fork over a sum upfront. After a government grant, the standard model, designated as “1,” costs £24,400, while “2” costs £26,400. After the scholarship, the top specification “3” will cost you £30,400.
When you consider that it is comparable to the cost of a Vauxhall Corsa-e or Peugeot e-208, none of it seems too horrible; When comparing those three models to their gasoline counterparts, the Mini will initially cost more. The additional monthly cost to the household budget may look better once more if you spin the money wheel again to break it down into a monthly finance arrangement, depending on your down payment and annual mileage. The refuse also needs to be very powerful.
Safety in the MINI Hatch
Although the Mini Electric is too little to warrant attention, Minis have a good safety track record (excellent occupant and medium pedestrian safety ratings). The Mini Electric’s range, according to Mini, is between 124 and 144 miles. Hmm. We frequently used the Green and Green+ modes, which restrict acceleration and boost regenerative braking, so we covered roughly 115–120 miles. Although the Sport mode is a lot of fun, we didn’t think the additional cost for the other end was justified. Due to its short range, the Mini Electric can only be used as most households’ primary or sole car. Avoid using the highway (as range decreases) if you never travel more than 60 miles to your destination. We are convinced that you can get farther using public transportation.
A full charge using the charging box and 11kW cable (extra cost) takes roughly 3.5 hours, which is excellent news since the Nissan Leaf gives you twice the range but requires twice as long to recharge. Another impressive statistic is the 4-4.5 miles per kWh the car claimed it could travel, which is highly effective considering that the dashboard rarely displays more than 3-3.5 miles.

How comfortable is the MINI Hatch
The battery was cleverly concealed under the back seats of the Mini, raising it slightly beyond the level of a standard Mini hatch’s internal area and trunk. Since the box is already so small and we must use the back seats for around half of our weekly shopping, it would be difficult to sacrifice the trunk room.
However, we comfortably transported two children in the back. It’s also an excellent opportunity to use the upright form of Mini’s headroom. However, compared to comparable electric vehicles like the Vauxhall Corsa-e, we observed no excessive harshness. Some testers claimed that this electric version of the Mini had an extremely bumpy ride compared to other Minis.
