About Jaguar

Jaguar is one of the most famous automakers in history. Its reputation is based on fusing aesthetics with functionality and virtue engineering with cutting-edge technology. This instruction has led to a product selection that includes renowned luxury sedans and legendary sports vehicles.

The Swallow Sidecar Company was established in 1922, planting the company’s foundational seeds over a century ago. Before moving to Coventry in 19TK, Swallow made motorcycle sidecars in northern England. 1932, the company began producing whole autos under the “SS Cars” label.

In 1935, several SS Cars sport sedan and roadster versions used the Jaguar moniker. In the years after World War II, when the initials “SS” had especially unfavorable worldwide implications, the business formally adopted the Jaguar name.

Although Jaguar introduced the iconic XK120 in the 1940s, it wasn’t until the lusty, long-nosed E-Type sports vehicle debuted in the 1960s that the company established a timeless character.

After overcoming existential obstacles, including ownership changes and corporate-wide product updates, Jaguar still makes luxurious sedans, coupes, and roadsters with a sports edge.

In the 1990s, Jaguar’s product line expanded dramatically as a result of Ford Motor Company including Jaguar in its Premier Auto Group lineup. After Ford transferred ownership of the SUV-focused Land Rover and Jaguar to Tata Motors in 2008, which combined the two brands to become Jaguar Land Rover or JLR, the company saw new growth. Jaguar is on a new path thanks to skills developed with aluminum construction and a contemporary design language.

While newly released crossovers like the midsize F-Pace, small E-Pace, and all-electric i-Pace have shown that an old cat can learn new tricks, Jaguar’s luxury and sports vehicles remain as relevant and alluring as ever.
