About Honda

Soichiro Honda established Honda in 1948 in Hamamatsu, Japan. After World War II, the business produced motorcycles and bicycles with tiny gas-powered engines to provide the Japanese with affordable, dependable transportation. Five years later, Honda created its first motorbike, the Honda Dream. The Dream rose to the top of the motorcycle market by 1959.

Honda began producing cars in 1963 for the domestic market. The business started exporting vehicles to the United States in the 1970s. However, it wasn’t until 1979 that Honda gained a household brand when it became the first Japanese automaker to establish a production plant in Marysville, Ohio, operating under the name American Honda Motor Company. Motorcycles were put into production right away, followed by cars in 1982.

Honda has now produced 26.1 million vehicles and light trucks in the United States. Various vehicles, including hybrids, electrics, fuel cells, sedans, coupes, SUVs, and a minivan, are available on its roster. It is also one of the most renowned brands in the sector. Because of the company’s quality, innovation, and dependability, its cars are among the most coveted globally. Its important automobile brands, such as Accord and Civic, have long held the top spot in worldwide sales.
